I was not there but want to say thanks to those that spent countless hours and dedication in pulling off the event. It is without a doubt a thankless job....

events

From what I was told by APA President Mr. Rodney Burris and many of other people that were there, is that the event was a very good event. I have talked to Mr. Rodney Burris everyday for the last week or so.. We may not like how the events were ran but we have to do what we can to make sure the events will go on for many more years.

Eric, Thanks for posting you hit the nail on the head.
If I am correct wvbearhunter joined the APA while he was there so maybe he will be able to help next year with the event..But I may be wrong about this, if I am I am sorry..

wvbearhunter,If you do not like how the APA ran there event you need to make it to a meeting and stand up and tell them how you can help to improve these events.. If you can not help in some way maybe you should not attend these type of events in the State of South Carlina. Because you have to run them the way that they (S.C.AC Office) tells you weather you like it or not. I can not aford to go to Jail. I think Mr. Rodney Burris needs a big thank you from everyone that like to go to these events.. Because without Mr. Rodney Burris hard work the event would have been cancelled. Way to go Mr. Rodney Burris. I also would like to thank everyone that has helped with his APA event.

Thanks
NPHA Predident

apa breed days

Attended APA breed days. Enjoyed the weekend, sharing stories and seeing old friends.

Regarding the hog bay; should have a round cage in the center of the bay pen. This would let dogs get all the way around the hogs and would let you know if the dogs were not engaged.

As for the bear bay; the bear should have been secured in the center of the pen and had dogs secured all the way around the bear.

I would like to congratulate friends from SC for winning 5th place in Open Hog Bay with their 2 cur dogs. Looking for more cur dogs there. Made a new friend from Crossville, TN. Thanks to the folks from WV for the new puppy.

Hunt curs, catch more game.

PS Eric, called all the contact numbers for NHPA and talked to Eugene. No other return calls and all other numbers disconnected.

We have a little problem and need to figure out a way around it. I don't really have a problem with the cage, but I was under the impression that no live bays were being held at all. All I could get out of anyone concerning the live bays was "we're still trying", or "we're not sure", well that's not going to work. People need to be informed of what is going on at these events. I did not attend, but would have if someone would have confirmed how the bay events were going to be handled. Anyway I would have liked to have been there, but I needed confirmation that no one was willing to give.

Jim

so the only way u are going to show support is if there are live animals . how does this help anything for the cause. that mean the anti win. apa and npha are the only 2 organizations to hold live big game events in the nation. we need to show them both support so our traditions can continuebut if that is the only way u are going to support them then u dont need to come anyway

What is your problem? Here's mine. It's simply a matter of not contributing to the economy of a state that doesn't support hound hunters......period. If you want people to support your event you **** well better provide them with accurate information about what you will be having at your event. If I don't want to drive 400 miles to watch dogs bark at a teddy bear that's my perogative. I can do that here. That's why people go to S.C. They want to participate in an event that is not available where they live. The bays are the draw and if APA or NPHA can't offer the live bays attendance will drop off. Why do you think those events are held in S.C.? It's because the live bays are not permitted anywhere else. All I asked was that club officials share a little information. There was alot of question about what events were going to be held (live or mechanical) and the people in the know, for whatever reason, didn't tell anyone after they found out.

Jim
