43 possum's

saw about 43 possum's the other night from my house to the huntin woods, in the huntin woods and on the way back. they were every where. my misty dog treed one, sounded real good till we got close, then she split had to run her down, if ya don't catch her you won't get her back till she's under a coon and that could be miles away!!! on the up side i wouldn't have went hungry, at least we did see some meat!!!!!

Possum dogs

I have an old dog here that just must tree a possum once in a great while......Why he has done this I have no idea but just when you think he has stopped thats seems to be when he has you to walk a long distance to him to find him treed on a slick tail. I use to shock him over doing that, but now at his age theres not much use in it. I owned the sire of this dog he would not tree a possum no matter what he no doubt was the straightest hound ever I followed in my life......Just a little info on him..........I have seen this old Hammer Bred hound go behind dogs running deer, and pick up a coon track, and tree it you would think he was on the same track as the dogs running deer until you heard him come treed with that locate, and those deer runners never stopped no he was not running the deer and just fell treed on a coon. You couldn't melt this hound and pour him on any kind of off game.......
