I was a Black Gold man till the quality went down and the price went up.. I can remember paying under $18 a bag.. I then switched to Sportmix and started selling it in the store. It has been creeping up and finally hit $30 a bag so I have let it go.. I used and really liked the food but its not worth that kinda money..I have always been a Pride dealer, its good food and affordable. After 3 years of Sportmix I switched to 26/20 Pride Pro Series
If you want to lay blame on high dog feed prices start with the reps and the company's. Wholesalers make a little just like the dealers they sell to. We are lucky to make $2 or $3 dollars a bag !
It's also amazing what these new grain free feeds cost and I honestly believe that's the culprit for high prices in the feed hunters use.. Where I pick Pride up they carry a lot of these feeds like taste of the wild, blue buffalo, and other feeds that are $45 to $65 per bag for 40lbs or less.. I just believe feed with prices like these are setting the market price on all feeds
