Need a little advice.
I have a couple of bluetick hounds that when they come across a track they will run it and tree. The problem I am having is that they do not like to range out too far. If they do not find anything, they check back in. They have been walked behind in the past. Is there any way to break them of this. I am hunting them alone most of the time. I carried a switch with me last night. Everytime the dog checked in and stood around I switched him and told him to go hunt. It did not take him long to realize he better get going. I have not ran him with any other hound besides his littermate. I have tried to run the other hound with other dogs, but he does not act like he cares much. He will run with them for awhile and then will come back and check in. These dogs will move a track pretty decent, and tree well, they know what a coon is and they hate them. Can anyone please give me some advice on how to get these hounds to range out? Thanks, Scott
