I took her hunting last night and took some pictures of her. At 11 years old she can still get it done....
Pearl is a real nice hound. She goes hunting good and uses a chop mouth all the way. She has a distinctive triple chop locate and you can tree her on most of the time. Her mouth is average but carries well. She is super quick at locating a tree and will have the meat most of the time. She can be pretty tight on the ground at times and real independent. The worst the track the better she looks. The dead of winter is when she will make alot of dogs look silly. She handles about like herding cats... You will have to catch her off a tree. However, she has probably never been worked with to come in when called. She has alot of since and is quite around the house.
She is bar none one of the best track dogs I have ever walked in the woods with. About 4 years ago, I was hunting her in a NT CH cast and all the dogs struck right of the leash. They worked out into an open field and Pearl litterally ran away with the track like she was looking at it. Pearl was already treed in the next block of woods while the other dogs were still working the track half way across the field. They finally worked their way over to her just before the 5 ran out.
She trees exactly like the first pic shows... Standing on all 4 looking up the tree.
