Hey Slick,

I haven't been on here much lately. Now & then I'll come on here & look around on the first page & read a few things but don't respond, then go back to the news & sports pages. I haven't opened my e-mail now in probably a month & a half at least.

How have things been going for you, great I hope?

Things have been pretty hectic around here for several months now. One of my brothers died about 2 months ago, then a month ago one of my nieces died, & 2 weeks ago one of my sister in laws had by pass surgery. All of that & trying to hunt 2-4 nights a week, going to a Chiropractor 3 evenings a week, & working down at school everyday, doesn't leave much time for other things. Outside of that, things are going about as well as I could ask for.

I retired ole Sqeaky, she has it made now. She gets to stay in the utility room on a nice big soft bed & on cold nights, Precious the outside cat sleeps with her. Some mornings I almost have to drag her out of bed, neither one wants to go out. She's 10 years old now, & was having trouble getting up creek banks & over logs, since she fell about 20 feet out of a tree a few years ago. I had alot of fun with her, when I unsnapped her she went hunting & you better be ready to go. A lot of guys didn't like her because she was going to strike & tree some where. Would tree slick once in a while, but she wouldn't hang around & keep the BOOGY MAN away either. I've had her to go 3-4 miles a couple of times to finally strike one, but if she smelled one 10 foot from where you unsnapped her, she was going to do her best to tree it. I already miss having her along.

I better stop this RAMBLING, & see if it's stopped raining. Going to try to go hunting for a little while later, don't have to get up early tomorrow, good ole CHRISTMAS BREAK.

MERRY CHRISTMAS, & A HAPPY NEW YEAR, to you & your family. I hope you have a GREAT YEAR ahead of you.

LATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

jimmy,

how are you doing since the big ice storm? Talked to Scott Reed (Mannford) & Roger Melson (Glenpool) & they said that it was pretty bad. Seen a few pics. from around Okla. City & it looks like the trees really took a beating.

I don't get on here much anymore, letting the younger generation have at it. I didn't know that ole SLICK had this thread on here until a friend up here called yesterday & told me that he was wondering where I was at. Take care & I'll talk at you later, & I hope you have some good hunts up in the Osage.

MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR to you & your family.

hello JW,

man hate to hear of all the bad happenings. the goodones always get old fast.

we been doing good down this way. me and Smilin Coyote got married back on Nov. 10 th of this year if you havent heard. my old dogs are fat and outta shape we havent hunted them since the end of Oct. we been letting the deer hunters use the woods but here before long we gonna cut em loose again. after the first weekend in Jan 2008 we gonna get em trimmed up. we been busy with Christmas and all around here last few weeks.

we had a thief in the neighborhood about 3 weeks or so ago. someone stole my taco house gip and stole a taco dog from my nephew who lives one road over the same day. the same day they did all that they stole a 5 gallon can of gas from another neighbor took can and all.

we had went put out some hay i left one truck at the gate and took another truck with the trailer and hay on it. we had left the taco gip out she followed us to the gate Smilin scolded her to make her go back to the house but i guess she came back to my truck. we was gone about and hour and half putting out the hay and havent seen my taco dog Brownie since. my neice had dropped a few things off at our house she said Brownie was sittin near my truck when she passed by. all i can say folks if you got small dogs ya better keep an eye on them this close to Christmas.

other the all that JW things are going good down this way. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours and hope yall have a safe one.

its a long shot but just incase anyone in Tx sees this old grey face taco she is mine. i would sure appreciate a holler if yall do see her somewhere. i hate a thief.

jimmy & Slick!!!!!!!!

jimmy, glad to hear you made it through the ice storm ok. I was living out on Round Mountian when that one hit in the mid 80's. We were without power also for about a week, done our cooking over the fire place & had to carry water into the barn to water the horses. Didn't want to get one hurt falling on that ice. It looked like a war zone in that one also.

jimmy, did you see where ole Slick admitted in PUBLIC THAT HE GOT MARRIED???? Man he is one BRAVE TEXICAN. Sorry to hear that he got his little dog stolen. Some more of those CRAZY PEOPLE, to lazy to work & earn their own money to go buy what they want.

Slick & Jeff S.

Slick, we know that the price on a STUD DOG LIKE "MY HERO ZERO", is PRICELESS. A dog that you'll only get, once in 10 life times, if your lucky.

Jeff S. hows your hunting season going, great I hope???? Was that fog thick enough for you night before last? Treed one on the outside & one den & called it a night. I could walk just as good with my light out as I could with it on. Went out to a Dairy farm last night, treed three on the outside & one den/slick tree. It was a den tree, but they half a$$ed treed, so I think that it was probably slick???? Think I'll rest up until after Christmas.

Almost forgot to ask, how are you doing on getting the crooks off of the streets? My boy's say that for every one that they get, it seems like two take his place. Like I tell my boy's, there's more running loose, then there are behind bars. Be CAREFUL out there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR to you & your family. Take care & I'll talk at you later.

I just figured John may have been following in the footsteps of ol Ben Lilly.
The story goes that ol Ben got tired of hearing his wife complain about this and that ,walked out the door of their house, unhooked several of his dogs, walked into the woods, and was gone for 3 years.

merry christmas John.

MERRY CHRISTMAS,

Bruce, Elvis, & Larry. Hope everyones hunting season is going GREAT?

Elvis, I've tried that Ben Lilly trick twice, & it has cost me more than I care to remember. I'm LOL, because it's better than CRYING. But with the POT-LICKERS I'm following now, I would STARVE TO DEATH.

Have a great NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy holidays to you as well John.

Season has been a blast for me this year. Had the pleasure of hunting the 2 best hounds Ive ever owned, may ever own, and starting a pup I feel has the best blood the breed has to offer in 1 package. Best season to date.
