"YOUR WELCOME!!"

BCD, As you know,I try to personalize them the best I can & them there clover's I put on there took me a month to find but it was well worth the time & the effort. The first I've done laminating something into them.

I had in excess of a hundred hours in those two but there was some learnin along the way & some re-doin here & there as well. Next time it will go much faster. How'd ya like the sex of the dog's portrayed? You bein more into male's & Bob the female's I felt it was only rite to do them that-a-way. Lil more personalized ya know!!

Your excitement & appreciation make's my time all worth it!!

Really happy you like them!!

Thank you everyone else,it has turned into a way to pass time when there's not much else ya can do. I have wrapped them in shed antler's,put catfish on them etc.,kennel name's & special favorite hound's. Try to capture treein style & what ever else I can. No wizards or none of that stuff, critter's & Ma nature is my gig!!

One thing I have found extremely popular are the one's I do with Morel mushroom's on them. Some stacked 3 high like their growin out of each other, shroom's stickin out the side's & stuff of that nature

What I have found is most of them are hangin on a wall majority of the time...LOL!!

I truly love doin it but I hate sending them out.Almost get attached to them when ya spend that much time on'um!!

Thanks again, Russ!

mjf... We'll use em! That's what they're for. Most of the ones that went before these are for display only... but ours will be used.... and we'll re apply the finish as needed Now... I think my buddy Mr Two Toes is trying to remind be that I"m CLUMSY! LOL

TT, Not only are the personalizations great but the SIZES! Hard to get it just right for a shrimp like me! LOL... DInd't you make a couple of these for some sort of auction fund raiser thingy??? I know I posted a bunch of pix for ya on here of some of your other stix...but You know my memory
The mushroom ones are WAY cool... I'm 99% positive I can drum up some more pix in my photobucket album..

I'll see what I can come up with in a bit... H and B

Morrell Mushrooms and stuff...

..FOund them! Look at this detail... It's almost GROSS if you hate mushrooms....LOL... (I don't but I've never tried or SEEN a morrell)

Wish I could blow this one up to see the detail on this bunch. I can see antlers, mushrooms, dawgs....

What would be the hardest thing to try to carve on one of these? I think a DRAGON would be cool... or a snake- wrapping it's way around.....

Enjoy the pix! HappyHunting! Heather

Those are really neat Heather, I would need a very, very, short one, because when my wife is mad at me, she know's where to stick it. lol. So one like that might not be good for my well being. lol.

The hardest thing? Not really sure I guess. Did start one that is gonna be wrapped in barbwire but that's gonna take some real time to do.Just as soon stay away from the weird stuff though. Been a nature freak all my life, fur, feather's, fin's & Tree's & the sort.

The snake thing would be interesting to try though!

Yeah,I have donated a few to worthy cause'.Benefit's & to help raise money to promote the future of "OUR SPORT",the youth.

Never be two the same. How bout the moon on the back of your's? End's up on most of the treed dog model's.

THE MOONs are cool! My family all noticed those right away.
Barbed wire will be Interesting. Snake would be COOL...
Thought I remembered you saying something about donations. That's a great thing to do...esp since they take so much labor. I BET they are Each appreciated!!!
You could spend some time doing a nice ROOSTER and some plumage.... LOL.... I'm just trying to think of HARD stuff to fill your LONG winter... you can't be spending ALL your time having fun raising pups!

Keep having FUN making them! can't wait to see what comes in the future.
Gotta go hunt for some Zzzzs.... if I don't get a few soon I'll be a zombie.... Have a good one, BCD

Well..... That makes me feel Good! Russ is the reason I got back into coonhunting after thirty yrs off! If it hadn't been for him I"d never have been able to own even part of a hound. Once Bob and I met Russ and his MUCH better half Who we Instantly felt we had known forever... we felt SO BLESSED! AND... we fell in love with his OWN walking stick... and when these came in the mail we were STUNNED!
We have actually BUGGED him into attempting to make a mantle piece for us too! We intend to live in this home forever but I can assure you... the mantle will be REMOVABLE... cause it will be artwork!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family as well, BLACKNTANS! Aren't good friends the Greatest?!!!
Heather and Bob

LOL... on the DogBox... Brandon WHO NEVER cracks a smile LAUGHED when I told him about Patch... he also showed compassion when he said he was glad the pup was fine!
SO... if you CALL a bank and get pennies... it means you can see money and NOT join the real world? Sounds GREAT to a GRUMPY hermit like me!
I look forward to some pix... and you have to label EACH pup for me...sicne I'm SO confused on who is who...LOL.. Gotta look thru the OLD pix and see who my orig. "picks" were too. You know what though? Not sure I want to... so far BOB's picks have been the good ones! LOL... Go figure! He always had a GOOD eye with the horses too...

Now.. go get pix.....

Depend's how far ya wind-up I reckon...LOL!! Seriously, pretty tough. I use Maple alot because of the awsome wood grain you can bring out.In fact spend as much time bringing out the natural grain of the wood as almost the rest. Do thing's kinda primitive but it's more satisfying to me.

Got the first one I made & it is locust. Like carvin cement but ya wanna talk about some strong stuff now. I use it for a hammer, pry bar,ice buster, you name it. Actually surprised it hasn't broke cuz I have tried.

Some walnut & hopin to collect some hickory in the near furure.

hey Mr. Two Toes

Try to find some dogwood to make walking sticks. Use the cornus florida type, it is the stuff that grows down south and blooms so nice. If you find a good young tree dig it up roots and all. Lots of time the roots angle out and can be part of your design. Plus what is more fitting than dogwood to carve hound dogs on. ha ha If you find a good one that had a honeysuckle vine twisting up it then it has the nice spiral scar already for your imagination to use. Osage orange is real pretty to but it is one of those trees you have to drive south to find. Just some tips. Your carving looks real nice, I can see you don't need any tips on that side at all from me. Where in WI do you live?
