Were they fighting when you got there? Were there any other troubles that night? If you answer no to both questions, then no one had a GATOR. They were just settling. I have seen and heard this at a lot of hunts on the first tree of the night, then never another off bark. They just have to establish a pecking order in the cast, especially if it is a hot track.

If there is a squabble at any tree there is an ill dog. There is no reason for a "PECKING ORDER" to be established at a tree.

FIGHTING

I AGREE SOSH I AM GOING TO THE TREE BUT IF YOU GO BY THE RULES IF YOU DONT KNOW THE AGRESSOR THE ARE ALL SCRATCHED ITS EVIDENT THE FIGHTING WAS HAPPENING SO THE SHOULD HAVE BEEN SCRATCHED I KNOW IT SUCKS BUT IF MORE OF THIS WOULD HAPPEN WE COULD GET THESE GATORS OUT OF THE GAME.

the dogs treed on they would be fine till that certan dog in the cast rolled in there then sh%$ would hit the fan and we all new it was that dog but we couldn't catch him in the act when we would get in there the other dogs would be gone or backed up off the tree. acually it wasn't a giant beagle it was a bnt.

jack

scratching the cast would have been the right thing to do but i didn't have the card and those boys in the cast didn't seem to be to concerned about the dogs rolling at the tree. i guess you'll have that in those big hunts... not rite but thats how it seems to be

The first thing that should of happened is the entire cast go to the tree as fast as possible and if the fighting was over and everyone was sure that there had been a fight than the whole cast is scratched if no agresser is known. If everyone does not agree with this than question the call and make them go back to the club and let the Master of Hounds decide. If and when you back to the woods stay on the dogs as close as possible and try and catch the agressor in the act. No one wants to have thier dog scratched for fighting but if we don't get the gators out then we will continue to have the same problems. This comes from a guy that has one barred right now for this very problem and swear that there is not a mean hair on him but in a nut shell he is still barred. We need to clean up these hunts and put the mean dogs in the truck.

Let me ask this. When you have a dog barred for fighting, does anything ever happen to the handler who handles aggressive dogs?

barring

if a dog gets wrote up three times and gets barred if the same handler is handling he should be barred for the same amount of time.

what if the handler is an innocent kid and he just runs around with and hunts dogs for the wrong kind of people. :P

This is aimed at certain people in this post if you don't get it don't worry

Keep hanging around kid and we will have you wearing diamonds or burlap!

As far as barring the handler of a rough dog, I think they should bar handlers for hauling Chit eaters to hunts.

loose three cast in a row and they stamp your papers "Chit Eater."
