shining tree question for UKC

Is it illegal to use night vision goggles to locate a coon on a night hunt? I recently read where it is ok to use a laser to pin point a coon on a night hunt. There are a lot of good, reasonably priced night vision goggle/binoculars etc. on the maket today that could be used to locate a coon at night. I don't understand why this would be a problem if you located the coon with the night vision gear and then found him with the light. Like a laser they would only be used to get the other cast members to look in the proper location for the coon. I have started using these when I am pleasure hunting and it really increases the percentage of coons you find on a hunt. You would be surprised how easy you can find a coon in a thick tree with night vision equipment. I really believe as competition hunters we should do all we can within reasonable limits to locate a coon and plus a dog who really deserves to get plus points instead of circle points. This would also make it a lot easier to minus a tree where a coon cannot be found. I would like to know if UKC has ever addressed this issue and what are the chances of ever getting it legal if it is currently illegal or against the rules.

Trees put off heat and blurr the scopes. They are not worth a crap for looking in a tree with. You would need at least a generation 3 to be able to look at a tree and even then it would be hard. Those run a few thousand dollars.

Yes, night vision goggles are against the rules. Light and squaller, that's it. Lasers are a light.
