If it were me, I would go with the GPS....

Trackers are going to be obsolete in a few years.

the Quick Track is a great system. the Marshall collars are the best by far. the GPS are too new. they are still working the bugs out. the collars break too easy. a couple of years down the road the GPS will probrobly be the best. you can get a Marshall collar and they will pick up about twice the distance

Good idea but he doesnt get on the forums much, usually he just checks out hunts...I usually have to do that for him anyways, lol.About the other reply,,,a close friend of ours Curt Ahring was staying with us last week and I was asking him about tracking systems and he mentioned the new garmins and said he heard they were great devices except the antennas had a few complaints so im kinda going more towards quick track.just gotta find a reasonable dealer.

You can order quick track directly from the company. If I were getting a new unit I would go with the garmin just get the low profile antennas there are several post with lots of reviews of the GPS systems.

tracker

Have a two dog classic for sale on here, will trade it for two collars purchased from Lion Country for the GPS unit with stubby arials. So I guess you can tell I bought the GPS and love it. But if you want traditional I have the tracker classic two dog system for sale that was new in May and is in excellent shape.

I got a Tracker Maxima 5000 off of ebay bran new for $675. It says they are reconditioned, but they are new ones advertised that way from Tracker because of the new Complete that is out.

Got the tracker working with Marshall Lighted Collars. Can't get a much better combination of Tracker/Collar... in my opinion that is.

Good luck and I hope he likes your gift!
