Well Ohio? How's The Gun Deer Season Going?

We're on day three now, anyone have any luck?

My Dad and I went all day Monday, got soaked and only saw a total of 4 deer. One gave me a perfect 30 yard shot, but he was only a little buck, 6-8, so I let him go. Had a heck of a big body on him though. Hard to believe we only saw 4, very depressing.
Tuesday, wasn't all that bad. Didn't see much in the morning so we broke for lunch and then decided to get in some urban area, see if we could bag a Doe or two. Got me one! Not a bad sized one either. Now I'm kind of waiting around for a nice buck. Still only seen about 7-8 deer that day, no bucks.

So, how are you all doing so far?

i saw two bucks and two does. i shot a seven point buck yesterday evening. he is a good size deer, not the biggest antlers on him but had as a good rack and a good body size. real nice buck, i was glad that i took him. i tagged him in yesterday at a local station and that was the biggest buck in area that had been tagged the last two days the guy said. so i don't know. i about hit every bit of a tweleve point buck yesterday going to my hunting area, big nice deer come running full speed didn't even stop for the car. would have liked to get a shot at him, but oh well my seven point is just fine with me. i am done this season. good luck for the rest of the season!

got a nice doe tuesday afternoon,,walked out behind house ,in the woods 15 minutes and 2 does snuck by me while i was bent over tying my boot lace ,looked up as they stop in the brairs and i shot at the big doe and the little one must have had its hind end in front of big ones chest as the little one went down with 2 broken hindquaters at the knee joints,,glad i was using sabot slugs, went clean thru both back legs,,should be some good eating left,,those rem sluggers would have exploded and wasted all the meat..maybe get a buck this weekend if i get time ,,

its the first time i went deer hunting in the last 20 yrs.

Nice Job on them deer guys! Nice Pic Nathan, I would've been letting a shot go on that one!

The DNR posted results of the first day. 19,000 deer were taken, that's half of last years 39,000! Rainy day or not, that's hard to believe!

Here's my Doe,

Well we hunted Saturday with some friends. Put on a few pushes. Managed to get 2 bucks on the ground. One was a Spike, the other was an old boy. He had a deformed rack, nothing big but had character. Big body, well over 200lbs.

My buddy called though as we finished the one drive. Said to come look at his deer. 204" taken with a Muzzleloader and on Film!
