As the article from the Missouri Conservation mag said above, you do not have permission in MO to trespass.

So okay our dogs get treed on a place that I have permission to hunt everything around him. I go to his house it's about 10:00pm and want to see if it is okay to go and get the dogs. He kinda rude saying I got him out of bed. Okay sorry, but is it okay to get the dogs, won't take a gun just get dogs and get out. He says get them. The next day deputy shows up at my house looking for me, my kids are home right after school and she gives them a phone number for me to call. Kids are wondering what has Dad done! Anyway I call the next day and she says needed to make contact with me as they got a complaint abut my dogs running loose on private property. I said wait a minute the guy gave me permission to get them. She says, in the state of MO you have to have resonable control of your animals. We have the right ot free cast dogs in MO so then I guess I did they had tracking collars on and I knew where they were. She procceds to tell me some other crap and I have to hang up. Now I'm mad so I call the Sheriff and say what is the deal with this, and why would she scare my kids like that (even though they weren't too scared). He gives me that line about resonable control also. SO through lots of research by a friend and myself we find that there is such a statute, but it pertains to livestock and specifcally excludes hunting dogs.

Course it made me famous they posted in the newspaper as a dog complaint and deputy gave a verbal warning.

It took about a week and I calmed down and went to the guys house and talked to him. At that time he gives me permission to go get my dogs without coming to the house, if I don't shoot a coon.

Huh, isn't that what I asked for to start with!

Oh well better teach our dogs to read!!!!!!!
