Dark Coons... ?

Ok, so I went and checked the traps I set last night on my lunch break. I caught one and he's really, really dark.. almost black all over. I'll post some pics in a little while.

If you've got pictures of some really dark coons, I wanna see! Thanks y'all.

Can you tell I'm bored at work?

I don't have any pics but a couple weeks ago my boss trapped one trying to get in his quail pen and called me to come and get it and when I picked it up it was all black and you could barely see the rings on his tail, so insted of useing it for training I turned it loose back in my woods

I was heading to work this morning and lo and behold, I found a true ALBINO coon someone had hit overnight! Needless to say, I turned around and went back and got him! I didnt get to take any pics, it was pretty warm today and I was afraid he would ruin before I could get him taken care of so I skinned him out. Im prolly gonna tan the hide.

Really?!? That's pretty cool. As ironic as it is, I would really like to have a pet coon. I don't know how safe it would be around here, but it would be cool to have one. They make great pets if you get them really young.

A friend of mine has a coon named Shanequa (lol, that's really her name) and when you pull up in his yard 3 dogs and a coon run after your car. It's so funny!

I am right there with ya Erin.... I would love to have one as a pet, and train it to run up a tree and for the dogs to track it. Then when the dogs are up, then call it down and take it back inside. I actually think there is a lady up in Il. that has a pet coon and she does this with it. I think it would be neat to have one. We don't really kill them during season. We might kill three maybe four a year! Just don't think dogs need one everytime they tree.

I had pet coon when I was younger...... The first thing it would do every day when I let it out of its cage was climb to the top of the barn...... It would follow my around like a dog til it found something else to occupy its time with..... Its tough to have one as a pet with hounds around though.....
