earmites&mange

does anyone know if ivermec works on earmites &mange i have a i yr old that shakes her head while she eats7a old dog that has scrathed the hair off from below her ears to down under her chest til it bleed been trying suladine hot spot &hydrocortizone cream but doesnt seem to work for the scrathing any help would be greatly appreciated tuckerhill in nc

It should on sarcoptic mange

You will have to give it daily in 1ml per 10lbs. It might work on ear mites. Usually have to get a different mixture of ivomec from your vet for the ear mites. I use the bloodworths ear canker remedy for mites. You might also try permethrin.

Ivermectin does work on ear mites and both kinds of mange. First, though, you need to get her to a vet and make sure that's what the problem is. If she's the one scratching the hair off, doesn't sound too much like mange to me. Could be a bacterial infection, could be a yeast infection - could be several other things. Could be several things together.

You need to know what it is before you can treat it.

I had one dog scratch like this and found that it was allergic to fleas.
