We just bought her at AO, knowing nothing about them... now that we've read a little more, we'd love to be able to compete with her once she's a bit bigger. Problem is, she's not registered and I don't know how to get in touch with the people who bred her. I know I'm the idiot here, but I'm wondering if there's any way to get around this? I've posted on the coonhound boards looking for the guy (he was showing a Ch or GrCh bluetick) but if I don't find him can I get a bench show judge to approve an application for her or write a note re: the pedigree or what? Thanks for any help.

I beleive that NKC will single register a treeing fiest

You can get her UKC registered as a treeing feist. Call UKC and ask for a feist single registration form, fill it out (you don't have to have her pedegree), enclose three pictures of her (one of each side and one of the front), and the registration fee. That is all there is to it.

Thanks so much guys! I'm really excited about this. How old does she have to be? I'm assuming the photos won't hold much credibility at her age (7 weeks) now.

As far as I know there is no age limit on single registration. I would however suggest that she is old enough to get a really good idea of how she looks. You can't really do much of anything with her in the hunts or shows until at least a few months old. I would go ahead and get the paperwork now, and have it ready to send in between 3 and 6 months old.

i dont know about the feist but the hounds have to be 6 months old before you can hunt them i would say it is the same for feist and showing hounds to.

You can single register her in UKC. I've done it with several feist.
