VET ADVICE needed!

I just had a litter of pups out of my gyp monday. I hadnt payed much attention to her. Mainly the pups. Today I noticed that a couple of her milk bags were larger and hard. One felt like a half inch layer of muscle lined it and the other was about the size of a baseball but oval and about like grabbing ahold of the leg muscle. Kind of harder. All will milk but is this a problem that needs vet attention or is there something I can give to help with this? ANYBODY?????

I would call the vet and ask. I like to hear what other people think about problems but when it comes to my dogs health I leave it up to the Professionals.

Some might say Mastitus (spelling?)

Ditto on that.. Call the vet.. They will probably have you take her temp.. My female did the same thing, in fact her bags have been hard throughout the whole dang thing... But they told me to heat pack it (which I do every night) and as long as her temp was normal then we should be good to go.. But I would still get the advice of an expert...

I have to agree with RedBones4me with the thought of Mastitus and yes there is some stuff you can give her. Its called Dexaject (DeX) but you can call your vet and ask him. My vet is awesome and I can call him or his wife which is also a Vet at anytime and they will help me.

mastitis, she will need antibiotic before she runs a fever and goes off feed, or you will have your hands full taking care of pups..the pups will not nurse off any infected teats.

I called the vet and he said the same thing. Said he could give her a shot to help it. She only has 2 that are infected I believe. The pups are doin fine, seem a little thinner than I think they should be but healthy. I am taking her to town here shortly. Thanks y'all.
