Breaking Records

Another hot one here today... calling for 103, heat index 110.
We've had 15 of the last 18 days over 100. Breaking heat records for our state daily. Hottest temperature the other day ever recorded, 107. Average for this time of year is 84.

Calling for 90's next week, whew... I'll have to get out a jacket if it gets that cold! LOL. No rain either for August, not one drop.

Hard on us, but harder on the animals. How's everyone else doing?

Actually called the police on a woman this past weekend. Parked at Tractor Supply and went in leaving her dog in the car with windows up. I called and reported her, it was 103 degrees out according to the bank board across the street. 15 min. later she was still in the store and the dog was bouncing from window to window inside panting. Stupid people.

It's in the upper 90's here too, yesterday I believe it was 96 or 97....Our dogs are doing well, but we give fresh cold water about 3 times daily. We hose them down during the hottest part of the day (they love it) and they each have their own shade board propped against their box. Our female that has 5 day old pups is in our basement where it's cool and stays at a steady temp. Hope everyone's dogs are okay in this heat!!

Same here just south of you. I got 2 day old pups with a fan on them. If they can make it another day we should get some relief.
