RUN OFF IN THE MOUNTAIN STATE

Guys, myself and J.R Dunlap have come up with an idea for a annual run off to all Beagle Clubs who are having a hound of the year competion. We have most of the clubs in southern WV who are excited about the idea and was wondering if the northern part of the state would be interested. Here is how its going to work-
1)Each club will pay a $150 entry fee for the dog that wins there hound of the year to compete. All money will be paid back in prizes for 1st thru 4th,money will also be taken out for a full page add in the American Beagler showing the winners
2)Each club must have a hound of the year competion to pick there hound to compete in this competion(in other words you just cant pick the hound you want to send,we want the best to compete in this)
3)We will use the UKC Beagle Hunting format for this competition
4)We will be holding the run off the beginning of December
5)This will be elimination style hunt

We have heard it all on who has the best hounds,LOL. Now its time to prove it. Let me know what you think about this idea and if you have any suggestions please post them. We can make this even better with different suggestions.

If your collectin' 150$ entry fee's can other clubs that is interested in this be eligable even if they are from other states. Highest club points while compeatin' at only the hunts hosted by their own for their club members and sendin' the highest dog with the most club points..
. That would help out the other sister clubs draw in more members meanin' that I myself would also join more clubs that I attend hunts at...Humm- maybe you have a great idea..

Todd,
Its up to each club to pick there hound of the year,just as long as they compete to do it. How they do it is up to that individual club. The reason I invited WV clubs is because we were hoping in the future that other UKC clubs in other states would follow and do the same thing and we could have a run off for the best from each state. If this doesnt happen we would be more than happy to invite dogs from every state. Would like to hear what other clubs have to say about this,we have a ruff draft going here but i think its really going to take off. Mitch have you heard any feed back about this up your way? Guys please feel free to tell me what you think,your not going to hurt my feelings. We really want to hear everyones input on this!!!

i have not heard anything till now about this , i think it is a great idea . I just cannot understand why we cannot get a state club federation started where , all clubs could meet say twice a year and discuss matters like this and many more possiblilities that could come from a federation . A "wv beagle federation hound of the year ."

it seems to me people cannot get over the state hunt debate long enough to look at the good we could do for all the clubs in WV .

i would love too ,however the last time we tried to get things started people just wanted to get hung up on the state hunt location.

i like your idea we may try and do somthing like that next year with you all

The State Hunt is an issue with the guy's From The south but its a diffrent one.
You guy's are more than welcome to get involed shawn and myself have wanted to do this for along time and we are trying to make sure we schedual the winner's on a day that benifits everyone in the state we fill if we get a dog from each club that won there hound of the year and put them head to head now that will be a field trail.
we also fill that it will help membership for clubs right now we give no reason for someone to join they can run in any UKC hunt they want if they have a registered dog so maybe some of the folk's thats not members will join clubs if we can make this a nice dill.
