I have a question for you cur dog enthusiasts. Assuming most of you have heard about decoying coyotes with dogs. Sounds like the cur breeds are the breed of choice for the small group of people that are doing this. Do you all see that as a positive or negative for the cur breeds and why?

Todd, I believe it shows the diversity for which the Mt. Cur was originated. Personally I don't see it as a bad thing at all.

i would have to agree with english. it shows the diversity of curs. i think the more sports curs excell at the better.

They work good, and it show diversity, but in my mind some of the curs are too gritty, i think you could use a lab or cattle dog just as well....from what i've seen

The ones I have seen were the best decoy dogs period. Most were Striker bred Kemmer curs. I know a few Govt. hunters and they use Kemmers. These curs just seem to know what you need them to do from early on. I have a female right now that definately "Speaks Coyote" LOL

I think it is a positive it will sur ehelp keep the coyote populatioin under control and it shows the versatility of the Cur breed.
