not a bit....a docked tail doesnt make it a cur...alot of MT cur litters are all born with full tails.

I got a Kemmer X OMCBA female with a long tail. She looks like a yard dog. Everyone thinks she's some lab cross. I even named her NADA as in " She's NOT A lab!"
Dock those tails!

tail dockin

It is really simple to do. I just do it the day after they are born usually or that day. It don't matter. I doubt if I ever dock another one again though, if ya want to know the truth. I don't think it matters one way or the other. The OMCBA started doin and now everybody thinks they need too.

Docking here

Just had 5 pups born last nite. Will be docking 4 of them, the other is a natural bob.
I just prefer the looks of a dock tail, but it sure don't make the dog hunt better.
Just a personal preference I reckon.

docked tails

I have mixed feelings about this all the time. One thin is for sure, once you dock it, you can't change it. I guess it really don't matter either way for me.

Blackmouth Cur & Tail

Nice looking BMC you have. The Blackmouth Cur is supposed to have a tail.
