changing AMBOR to LP registration

I got my dog from an animal shelter as a neutered adult. Since I didn't know what breed he was, I figured he was a mix and registered him as AMBOR with UKC. A short while later, a member of my dog club told me my dog was a liver and white Brittany and that I could register him with AKC under their ILP rules. I followed her instructions and, indeed, AKC gave my dog an ILP registration as a Brittany. Now I'm wondering, should I (and can I) change my UKC registration to LP by sending in photos of my dog for review?

Any insights into this situation would be appreciated!

Yes, you can. You might want to send it to my attention. The cost would be $8.00.
