Can You Tell Me What "type" Of Feist This Is?

I know it's probably close to impossible to figure out from a picture, but I'm thinking of adopting this little guy from a shelter and was doing some research on the breed and was wondering what "type" he was?

This link has 3 pictures to him and says very little about him...

What do you think?

Also any advise on the breed would be great. We're looking for a good family dog (we're active)

Thanks!
Summer

Your link didn't work but I saw your post on Squirrel Dog Central. It could have some cur or feist in it. Kind of buttermilk colored like some Kemmers. From what I have read on the other post and from what I have seen on the links you posted. If you want a housedog it is housebroken with a sweet disposition-what more could you want? If it is a housedog/squirrel dog you want then just get yourself a pup that is bred to be a squirrel dog and raise him in the house and you will have that. My female is a housedog and a real good one. It is all about how you train your dog and how you treat it. If you want one that has a good chance of making a squirrel dog them you have to buy one that is bred for that. Keeping one in the house won't hurt his squirrel hunting abilities and it has it's other bonuses. Like maybe listening better in the woods and being more enjoyable to hunt with. So my answer is if you are wanting a housedog, it looks like a good housedog. If you are wanting a housedog/squirrel dog then you are taking your chances with the squirrel dog part. Could be frustrating trying to train a dog for squirrels that isn't bred for it. If it is a squirrel dog/ housedog that you want get yourself a good bred pup for the job. I know people might think that they are saving money getting one that they think could make it for free but they really aren't. It takes a lot of time, gas, and patience to train a good squirrel dog and if you start out with something that is dubious in the first place you are only kidding yourself. Might be the best squirrel dog in the world but odds are against it. You have a better chance with a good bred dog and they do make good housedogs if you give them the exercise they need by taking them out in the woods. One good thing is the wife will say, "Why don't you take him out to run some energy off?" and you got her blessing. Once they get a little age on them they don't really need that as often. They get set in their duo role as housedog/squirrel dog and enjoy their time in the house but also look forward to their time in the woods. Don't know what you want to hear but that is my 2 cents. If it is a squirrel dog you want buy a squirrel dog. Save your money and buy a good pup. It will be much cheaper and much less frustrating in the end.
