I would never give 5 digits for any dog, period! But I also have had dogs that no amount of money could buy. I had a guy call a while back and ask me to price my dog to him. I told him he was not for sale. He said "every dog has it's price, dont be scared, throw it out there". This is coming from a man that has given big money for some dogs in the past. I told him again He was not for sale and I would not price him. He is not only my hunting dog, but he is my dog, part of my family. When I own a dog I truly love, they cant be bought period! I feel sorry for the hunters that have lost the true meaning of a man and his hunting dog. They are missing a great part of life. Just like many other things "money is the root of all evil". There are too many people out there willing to do anything to win at any cost. This is a shame. No way would I let one of my dogs go to a man like this. What would he do when the dog started slowing down, or had a couple bad nights? They all do.Take him to the local trader and go buy another!
