Snares..wolves, eagles

I just picked up an Outdoor News, a weekly outdoorsmans newspaper. In each issue there is a weekly report of game warden activities (CO's).

"Outdoor News", Jan 26, page 40
This report is compiled by Richard Sprouse, MN DNR enforcement.

This week:

Brainard area-Two timber wolves caught by snares
Prior Lake MN-Bald eagle caught by snare

There were multiple reports of trappers not checking snares and traps.

These were taken from the Conservation Officers own reports and the areas and names of the officers are listed in the "Cuffs and Collars" section of the paper.

I wonder how many "non-target" catches don't get reported, especially in the less populated areas. Prior lake in on the edge of the Minneapolis area and Brainard is far from remote.

I quite hunting in my area after the second time one of my dogs got caught in a snare in two weeks time....
