what do you guys think

ok, a female is pregnant, do you think it helps her pups, if she is hunted, or kept in a lot? do you think if she is treeing coons every night, do you think her pups will turn out better, than if she was just kept in a lot? i know most of the time when a woman is pregnant it seems like what she craves the most, while she is pregnant, her child will like the same thing. could this be the case?

I can't see it making much difference, if it's bred into them
they're going to run and tree. I wouldn't take the chance
of her falling out of a tree or something and losing the pups.

"WELL"

We have always hunted our females rite up to within a couple weeks of whelpin.

We don't do this to make the pups better, like Scott said, genetic's can not be altered in this way. "OUR" reasoning behind this is to keep the "Ladies" healthier during the pregnancy & maintain their figure so to speak.

Makes a huge difference in how fast they dry up & the length of time it takes to retract their udder.

Just a personal observation!!

I think the fact that the female CAN hunt and tree coon on a regular basis has more to do with the success of the litter than if you actually hunt her up until whelping time.

What I know is that a healthy female that is exercised regularly before being bred, and continues on her exercise schedule has less chance of having whelping problems or health issues....
