I met Ed Mead,

and Jet 8 last week through a buddy of mine who is old friends with Mr. Mead. We did a little hunting and to all those people that talked trash about Jet 8, let me tell you, he is a real coonhound!! He is no joke.
Mr. Mead and his friend "Catfish" Turner are super good folks and gave me alot tips for my hounds. I can't wait to hang out and hunt with them again!! Here are some pics

Jet 8 and my Vader pup treeing.

Ed Mead

Your right on with the comments on Mr. Mead. Top shelf kind of man - doesn't matter what breed your hunting!

You see that's the whole problem there's prolly 3 to 5 people on this board who ever hunted with8 and yet you got prolly 10 to 15 if not more
who never hunted with him bashing him all i have to say is he must be a coondog for getting where he is today. P.S. All my blues are heavly JET bred.

Looks like you guys had some fun down there in Florida. Did ya tree some coons? And you are right. Ed is a great guy to hunt with. Just don't follow him in the woods if he eats any Kalbasa for supper!!!LOL!! Glad that you liked what you saw Jet 8 do. Is this the first time you ever hunted with him? Thanks Danny G. PS I'm leaving Wends. Afternoon.

Hey Mr. Glista
Yes this was the first time I hunted with Mr. Mead and I was surprised how well he gets through the woods at his age, our woods are nasty down here too! Ask Catfish ha ha. The first night we treed 3 really quick. We had been averaging about 1 a night with really hard hunting but Jet went out and found them.

Did you hunt 8 by himself or with help. Every one talks about how good he is in a cast, I would like to know how good he is alone.

Josh

Talked with Ed and they treed 18 total. They hunted 8 with some pups one night and treed 3. Ed told me they hunted 8 and another older dog and they treed 8 that night. The dogs split on 4 drops and both dogs had coon. Ed said 8 had coon in everytree he was on by himself or with company with one tree witch he came in last that was ?????. He said 8 looked real good. How's Queenie been doing for ya. Ed said they had to chop thier way into the dogs on most trees they went to. Thick and rough hunting. Thanks Danny G.

Coondog, once on the second night I hunted with 8, we put him, my pup and another pup, and another hound in a block. All hounds come back out after about 20 minutes except 8, we could barely hear him so we went to him and by the time we got there he was treed and had the coon. Like I said, he is no joke, a real hound!! Everytime he was put out, you didn't see him again until he was treed! That says alot down here because it is really nasty and hard hunting.

I hunted in Florida three nights years ago near Tallahasse
in some National forests if I remember right. We had to chop our
way into the dogs through some aweful briars. Once you
got to the water in the cypress swamp it wasn't bad going.
I found out you have to be careful when your shining the tree
so you don't back over a cypress shoot and end up on your back
in the water. Only took me two times to learn that!!!

Danny......Queenie is doing just fine but she has been treein some slicks here lately, i dont know if it is the weather or what. But she is more spoiled than ever, my mom thinks it is cruel to not have a heater in the dog houses so she put a 400$ heater in her dog house. And when i feed the dogs she makes me pup dry and soft and mix it together. but once she goes in her house she wont come out unless it is hunting time........lol
