i have been to Mikes many times since he had dizzy. Most of the time there would be anywhere from 2 to 8 litters on the place. every single pup would run and jump and play with you. I did see one that came out and played a few minutes and went back into her house. Mike laughed and said she thought it was feeding time. Pup was different from the rest. I would say she was'nt shy, she was just a loner. You could pet her no problem. We took a hide and she treed the hardest out of all of them. She is now in my kennel. I personally have never seen a shy pup out of Dizzy, but I have'nt seen them all. this is just my honest opinion....but I'd say if Mike knew a pup out of a litter was overly shy, he'd culled it and thats the truth. Something folks don't realize about Mike is out of a litter of 10...he'll cull what needs to be culled even if its the entire litter. He may only end up 3,4,5 pups out of a litter of 12 or he may sale them all if he thinks they are top notch. Now I'm talking about buying a pup from Mike himself, not someone who bred a bitch to Dizzy.
Kokomo gave you some great advice don't think theres anything I could add. I do agree if the pup is overly shy, cull it. You can also call Mike, he is a really nice guy that trys to do right. He may replace your pup, he may not all I suggest is it won't hurt to ask at least. 812-472-3563.
One of the female pups I had off of Fiddler was shy as a pup. I started taking her to work with me, to the store, poker night and all the rest. The more she was around people, the less shy she got till she was over it. Went on to be a pretty nice but I did'nt breed her. The newest little pup, Lizzy, when I got her the owner told me she was a little hard to catch. He said some kids had kinda chases her around some.(I love honest people) Now when I turn her loose, I'll call her when she comes I'll give her a little treat stuck in my pocket. I'm weaning her off that now and shes coming when called and seems to be happy with just a good ear rub. Your pup is 6 months old so it is still very young. Expose her to all you can and pet her up when she does good. Good luck with your pup and like Kokomo said....not all of them are gonna make it. Sackett Jr, by ukc records, so far has been the best reproducer ever, and thats roughly 20%. 2 out of 10 at thats at best.
