Urgent: Coonhunter Family in need

Tonight the horror of Friday the 13th has hit my best friends Jason and Sianna Spieth.
They had a terrible fire, and it has taken their barn/kennel. Anyone in the Litchfield area of Michigan is asked to keep your eye out for hounds. In order to save the kennel, Jason just let dogs go. They sadly report they didn't save them all.

The Spieths need our help as a coonhound family. They are in need of foster homes for hounds while they regroup. Anyone that is willing to help please at this time contact them.

You're thoughtfulness in this tragic time is greatly thankful.

Jason cell 517-425-8596
Sianna cell 517-425-8595

Please be thoughtful and call only if you can help in this matter. I will post a mailing address if you would like to send notes.

Update: Family fine

Just spoke with Sianna. The family is safe. Dogs that are missing have been located. Thanks to friends, neighbors and family.

Horses accounted for and slight fire burns. They lost a litter of pups that they couldn't get to. The fire is still burning, over 3000 bales of hay lost. 3-5 Fire units worked til 4:00 am containing the flames. The Spieths are very lucky. If the wind would have blown to the West, they would have lost the other 2 barns and their home.

For those that may not know Jason and Sianna as well as some others; these two individuals would bend over backwards to help anyone. Friend or Foe. They are foster parents to 3 outstanding young boys. They are very active in the English breed, the community and local school.

They are members of the Wolverine State CHA. We are making plans to host a benefit bar-b-que first part of November. Tentative plans are to hold an auction with all proceeds from the meal and auction going to the Spieth family in hopes to rebuild their kennels.

Sianna is an active horseman. If anyone has extra tack or saddles please keep her and the family in mind. Dog supplies are needed, buckets, pans, leashes, dog food etc. Anyone that has gone through a tragic like this knows that insurance companies can work slowly, therefore we need to lend our help.

If you would like to mail things to them here is their address:

7960 Genesee Road
Litchfield, MI 49252

I will continue to keep you updated! Again, thanks for your help and support.

Update: dogs secure

With the help of the firefighters, neighbors, and friends, they were able to pull away from the barn enough panels that have secured a temporary kennel.

The fire has been caused by the electrical of the automatic garage door opener which has taken the entire garage and the main barn.

Sianna phoned just minutes ago to - in much better spirits - to report the kennel set-up. She would like to extend a gracious thank you to those that have helped her and Jason and the boys in this time of tragic.
