Need help for ear issues

Got a dog who started getting ear infections when she turned 5. She is now 8. Been too a couple of veterinarians. Whom both cleaned and then packed her ears with a antibiotic wax several times. But infection and head shakes still comes back. Been on doxy and amoxicillin but still comes back. Best temporary results was enrofloxacin / dexamethasone ear drops. Got another vet appointment this Thursday. Just seeing if anyone had another idea to bounce off the vet while we are there. Discharge from the ears is green and smelly. Any successful or new ideas would be appreciated. FYI did try a grain free dog food for a while and did not seem to help.
Thank you and Merry Christmas.

Ear Infection

I have been fighting it for 15 months. Several Vet visits. Stumbled on this treatment and it seems to be working. Make 8 oz of green tea. (let it steep for 20 mins.) Add 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and stir. Use 3 or 4 drops once daily for 7 to 10 days. Make sure liquid is room temperature. Can be stored in fridge. I wipe ear 1st then apply tea. I also put tablespoon of coconut oil on dog food. After the tea treatment I use TrizUltra +Keto flush for dogs as needed. This can be bought at the Vet or Amazon.
I found all of the above while researching dog ear infection on the internet.

Good Luck
Randi

Banixx cream works well for me. Buy it at Tractor Supply or similar places. Made for horses, dogs, etc. They make a liquid but I have been using the cream with success. Squirt a good amount on your finger and rub as far down in the ear canal as you can. May have to repeat every couple of days until there is no head shaking anymore. I have also used mEARicle solution with good success too. You can call them and order or order off their website. They are located in Arizona I believe. I have called and spoken with one of the owners in the past. Super nice lady. Hope this helps.

Try this

16 oz of witch hazel 4 tbl spoon of borec acid 16 drops of gentian violet.

Mix well, shake everytime you use it. Be careful, it will stain your hands purple. I use it every month to keep ears clean. Used it every 3 days for 2 weeks when I started.

Hillbilly recipes are usually good

About 6 or 7 years ago my dogs started to look poorly…I tried a few remedies that usually worked right away. These didn’t work so I started looking at the dog food…I had been feeding Sportsmix for years without any problems…the head shaking and ear infections wouldn’t go away and their coats didn’t look healthy…swapped dog foods and started seeing positive results within a week or two…it’s been about 6 month now that I went back to the Sportsmix in the blue back and dogs look great…

If antibiotics aren't kicking it and it keeps coming back them it most likely has a fungal infection too they can have both at the same time. Athletes foot spray and BluKote sprayed in the ear after you clean any gunk out.
