Top UKC Clubs in the Country - Who are they?
As I mentioned a few days ago I have been playing around with some numbers largely in part due to new programming made available to us recently here at the UKC . We can now easily figure average numbers per event throughout the year for each and every UKC club. It shows us what clubs have the highest numbers all the way down to the ones that aren't doing so good. Like I said a few days ago, it is time we recognize these clubs that put up good numbers and let them know we do appreciate their hard work and efforts in their continued support of the UKC and our programs. Also, without them we as hunters may not have the camaraderie of the local club event and the competition for our hounds.
As promised I have put together a list of the top five clubs of 2005 in each state, in terms of average numbers per event. We set a crIteria regarding minimum number of events per club in order to make this list. Every club listed will have at least a minimum of three events per year. That is also the number of events allowed for first year clubs. This list will not show any State or Breed Association event numbers. Just your regular local club events. Some clubs may have RQE's or breed sectionals etc; etc..
Some states that did not have a minimum of five clubs are not shown on this list. I will try to get the top club of those states up eventually. Also, the programming did not pick up Canadian clubs so bear with me and I will also get those up. Looks like I will have to do those manualy for now.
For starters I will list the Top Twenty UKC Clubs of 2005. They will not be in any specific order. Who do you think might be the #1 club? That answer will come in a day or two when I post the list on the website.
Congratulations to the clubs who make up this list of the "Top Twenty UKC Clubs of 2005"
WE SALUTE YOU! THANK-YOU.

Thanks. As you can see with my handle, I am proud to be a member of MACHA . In all clubs, there are givers and there are takers. We are very fortune to have more than average givers. We pride ourselves on making visitors feel like family. I challenge anyone that has not been to our club to come and not be approached by a club member within 15 minutes and welcomed. We demand high morales. We like to win, too, but if we pull off a successful event, we are as tickled as the guys taking home the hardware. Some of our members try to make the rounds and enter at neighboring clubs in a good will tour so to speak. How do you expect people to come to our club, it we do not reciprocate?
surry county coonhunters club
dobson, n.c. i looked through the bloodlines from past years and figured we would be doing pretty good, can't wait to see where we finish,i hope top # 1 . this will be interesting.

allen any from wisconsin close
i am a working member
of the surry county coon hunters club in dobson n.c.. we have treeing contests,50 50 drawings raffles...
if someone is in need we have special raffles and donate all proceeds to them.this last year we held a raffle for a fellow coonhunter whos place had burned down,a family who was displaced by fire, donated to club members mother who was terminally ill with cancer...
we really try to make everyone feel welcome.we have a cache of trophys for impromptu kid bench shows when we have enough for one.
brady sloop is our president and his specialty is homemade biscuits and strawberry shortcake.we have a full kitchen before and after events.hotdogs, hamburgers, usually with a special dish(spahgetti, chilibeans with fixins). we put on a big breakfast for everyone, eggs, bacon, tenderloin sausage, fried apples, bisciuts and gravy, coffee or drink.
we keep a rotation of moh's for our events, yall know how people are, lol. we have had "situations" rise in the past and hearings have been held. folks know we don't tolerate monkey business, we want everyone to have a ggod hunt and a fair shake.
show folks a good time
try to welcome new and old
feed them good
have guides with coons
do something special for the kids
use reputable moh
weed out the problems
people won't show up if you have the wrong moh , or if they have been jerked around at your club.
if you are ever around dobson n.c,stop in and check us out, we got so many ways, yall are bound to like some of them.
daryl bryant
conratulations to the stone mtn club for making the list, they work hard to put on a good hunt.

Good post, Darrell. Good points on the success of the Surrey County CHA. Congratulations and tell the guys we appreciate them. You will see where your club fits in the mix later today on the news page. The average numbers per event will also be shown for each club.
Regardless of whether your club made the list or where it fits in, thanks to all of you guys who support your local clubs. We appreciate the efforts you put into your club events.

MACON COUNTY COON HUNTERS....FRANKLIN NC
THEY ARE AN AWESOME CLUB!
WE HAVE BEEN MEMBERS FOR 6-7 YEARS.
THEY ALWAYS HAVE GOOD TURN OUTS FOR THEIR SHOWS AND HUNTS.
GOOD FOOD, EXTREMELY FRIENDLY PEOPLE.
ALL AROUND GOOD HOST CLUB.
THEY ARE ONE OF A FEW CLUBS AROUND HERE THAT WE TRY TO ALWAYS MAKE IT TO THEIR HUNTS!!
UNLESS MEMORY FAILS ME AT A HUNT THEY HAD BACK A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO THEY HAD A TOTAL OF 23 REGISTERED DOGS ENTERED! 23! THAT'S NOT INCLUDING THE NTCH'S THAT WERE ENTERED, WHICH I THINK WAS 8.
CONGRATS TO ALL THE CLUBS!
I THINK UKC SHOULD ANNOUNCE IT IN THE BLOODLINES TO RECOGNIZE THE CLUBS A LITTLE BIT!!!

Looks like some great clubs on that list! Their members should be proud!!
I would like to see a second list generated that eliminated all Purina Events from the equation??? This way the RQE's, state hunts, and large breed hunts that are often hosted with help from satelite clubs or held off the actual club property (fairgrounds) would be eliminated and we could see if some other clubs creep into the "top 20".....Just curious?????

maybe some of you could post why you like these clubs (or any others) not as a member but going there for a hunt. That way some of the clubs that are struggling trying to get larger turn-outs maybe could get some new ideas. Or figure out what they are doing wrong.

Any more predictions on which club will claim the top spot for 2005? Just being in this elite list of clubs should give their members something to be proud of. In my opinion they are all no. one clubs!
I am working on a little article for the news page in recognition of these clubs. It should be up this afternoon.
MY GUESS...
FOR #1 IS...........
BRAZIL COONHOUND AND FIELD TRIAL INC - BRAZIL IN

Hey guys it's official! Check out the news page. I had the list of the top five in each state up also or at least partially but there's not enough space to allow it. I will post it in the morning. Enjoy!
ky clubs
i sure thought that a couple clubs from ky would be in there.oh well that just shows what i know!!!lol
number two
Hawkins co coon club was started and build by coon hunter the hard way. we rasied tobacco and paid for the land and buildings.
Yes we are proud of our club and still trying to make it better.
our members donated money to build part of it.
It sure would be nice to get our zone hunt back.
like steve said you won't leave with a empty belly.
