how does he like it, my cousin just bought one, and I think he said that it is lighter by like a pound, compare to the smaller 310

Saws

Well i still have 2 from my logging days both stihls. 1 064 and an 066 both still run great even though they are getting some years on them. All iuse them for anymore is to cut firewood. If i had to buy another one it would be a stihl. Don't know how many of them i have wornout.

Stihl 026 here. Runs like a banshee wide open, light and powerful. Set it down and it usually quits. Hard to start too. That saw hasn't been right since I bought it and I've had it back to the shop a couple times. Just a lemon I think. If I had to buy a new saw tomorrow I would go Huskvarna (sp?).

Todd I had the same prob with mine, changed the air filter and tweeked the carb and it runs like a new Ford truck now, smooth and powerful. lol. Sometimes the carb can get bumped a bit, and this happens. I will never start anything but a Stihl anymore.

I have a Husky 357XP and a little Stihl 028.

The Stihl is about a 1983 model and still runs like a champ. It's my preferred saw.

I wanted something a little bigger like a 360 stihl, but I went with the Husky. BIG MISTAKE!!!

The Husky is about 2004 model and is junk. Hard to start, not enough power to run the chain through these hardwoods, and a gas hog. It might be ok if you were only cutting pines...

a buddy of mine just got a 310 this winter. That thing will definately cut. Nice saw, and cheap. It's about $200 less than the Husky I got and it'll cut alot more.

I've run some bigger saws when I was out West, 044 and 066.

I definately think Stihl is the way to go.

Stihl 029 Super with a 20" Rollomatic bar and chain, I've had this saw for 10 years, cleared my house lot and cut tons of firewood every year. It's been a great saw. I have a Stihl weedwacker thats about 5 years old...starts up and idles but when i give it gas it dies..took itto the shop, 125 bucks later and still does the same thing. Anyone know how to fix it? The thing pisses me off..bout ready to shoot it and buy a husky. I've tried everything I know and it still dies if ya give it any gas.

Yeah, like I said. I think I just got a lemon. I have a stihl trimmer and blower and they run good. If it's a carb problem it must be a complicated one cause the shop can't even figure it out. I wouldn't think it's the air cleaner cause it did it when it was brand new.

I used to work for an MSU research forest and we had both Stihl and Husky saws to use. I remember those Husky's running strong and being nice to cut with. But that's a lot of years ago and not sure what they've done since. I'll take your word for it.

Stihl is a great saw, have one, but best I gave ever used day in day out is the Sachs-Dolmar, can take a licking and keep on ticking.. lot depends what one needs to do with a saw and how it is used, etc...
