Years of Info lost as well I take it????
I can't tell you how many hrs i have spent doing searches on this website chasing down old post with great info from the people who have past on. About the style and PED's of the old dogs. Every Time I get a new pup I start digging in. I don't have FB and never will. It's just sad to see the state things have come to today.
I agree I don't do fb either but seems like everyone else does.i don't want or need 10,000 people wanting to friend me that I don't know just so they can brag to people how many friends they have on fb.
Ya I have had the same phone number since I was 18 yrs old, im 46 now. My parents live at the same place I grew up at, and i've worked at the same place for 25 yrs. If I know you, you can easily find me. Other than that I more than likely don't need for people to find me.
Friday morning my two blue ticks were gone. They hunt hard and wide. I put a post on Facebook with my phone number. I had no idea where they might be. I was riding around looking when my phone rang. "ARE you the man that lost the blue ticks?" He told me he just spotted them but couldn't catch them. He was three miles from where I was. He showed me where they went into the woods along a bayou. I drove to where the bayou crossed the next highway and caught them. I didn't know this man and he didn't know me. Facebook ain't all bad.

Your 100%right if people would use it sensibly. My wife is on it and it has basically consumed her life and she'll admit it along with millions of other people way to much drama on it.
I agree with that. I work outside and can't tell you how often in town I see dogs running and would like to be able to post when and where I saw them on our local board. But i'm a private person and not willing to sign my life away with all my personal info just to be able to see if someone is missing a dog. Heck around here I have to have a friend get on market place when I see them cutting hay in the area. Seems there all selling it that way now. My mom has 3 horses and it turns into a thing every year. No one in my family has FB.
It’s a shame to lose so much history.

United we stand divided we fall….and I believe that is what is happening here. I understand this forum has lost internet traffic and viewers, but it was a common place for people to post questions, things for sale, and dog information. We as a sport need unity and not division or we are going to suffer more. Magazines are gone, this forum will be gone, etc. Kennel clubs preach camaraderie and family but as the publications go away, that follows suit. Facebook, Twitter and podcasts can’t replace what this forum is/was, and never will. Too much regulation, AI, and bots on the social media platforms to allow for the same type of content that you will find here.
Also the history and ability to search back in the past for dog information, crosses, hunt results, etc. will be gone. That is one of the most valuable things this forum had going for it. It’s sad to see it goes as it was something I would check regularly to see the discussions, search for dogs, and learn tid bits here and there on training.

I talked to UKC the other day and they said the forum will still be up, you just won't be able to post or make replies. But all the threads will still be available.
That's a good thing at least.
Has anyone ever used coondawgs.com? It seems similar to this but I'm not familiar with it.
