hear better?

Have had hearing aids many years... yes you hear better BUT if they are not balanced you will not be able to tell direction, my hearing got so bad that the specialist couldn't improve them I now have a Cochlear Implant in the left ear and It surely does improve hearing BUT I have no directional hearing. the garmin Pro 550 plus will help there!

I agree. I wear hearing aids all the time, including hunting and it helps with hearing the dogs (still don't hear them as well as my buddy who has normal hearing) but can't course the dogs very well and if two dogs are treed they often will sound split to me till I get right to the tree.

I've had mine for 8 years so I don't remember what brand. Got mine thru an audiologist and were not cheap. Have experimented with a couple of the cheaper ones without much success. Was going to use the cheap ones for hunting so I wouldn't loose the others. Good thing about using an audiologist is that I go in every couple of months and they clean and check them out for no charge and they have lasted 8 years so that makes the cost not so bad.

hearing aids

I'VE BEEN USING HEARING AIDS FOR 5 YEARS. OOTICON IS THE NAME. VERY EXPENSIVE AND NOT WORTH IT FOR THE GOOD THEY DO HUNTING. IN FACT I SELDOM WEAR THEM HUNTING. THEY MIGHT CLEAR THE BARK UP SOME BUT I CAN HEAR A DOG AS FAR WITHOUT THEM.

there is a bit of truth about you get what you pay for...
that being said I have had many different brands.. the cheap ones just amplify everything and tend to increase hearing loss. the one that I was happiest with was a Widex brand_ a pair of them... the bluetooth on them and other features was good BUT when it came time for the Cochlear Implant they would not pair up with it so I now have a Resound.. and also to easily pair up with the smart phone. an Android phone was a pain in the butt.. the I phone I now have id easier to pair up and seems to have solved a lot of that.
By the way I still have the one Widex that I use as a standby when the Resound fails for some reason..
