Newbie rules question

I’ve only hunted once, there isn’t many hunters in my area to bounce questions off of, but this question is probably simply answered.

Scenario: all 4 dogs are struck in, I’m in for 100, my dog trees, 3 min, tree closed. We score tree, 225 to me. No other dog has treed.

I recast and my dog strikes, what does my dog strike in at? I would think 100 again because the rule says your strike position becomes available once your dog has been recast. But then it also says that that a dog striking in after a recast can’t be struck in in a higher position that is already being held. So I don’t know in my above scenario, does my dog strike in at 100 or at 25?

You would get next available strike points depending on who was stuck after you declared struck. Don’t matter if you tree and recut. If others were struck before tree was closed those dogs are still in for their strike points.

In the scenario I laid out, there are still three dogs struck in at 75,50,&25 when my tree is done being scored. When I recut, do we have have to call new strikes? Or are they still working on their initial strikes and I am the only one who has to strike in again?

I would be so much more interested in getting into competition hunting if there were no strike points.

If there is a dog out there holding 25; you go back in for 25 when you re-strike. If I'm not mistaken, it clearly says you don't strike in over another..with a couple of exceptions.
Others can quote the rules better than I can and I'm not looking at a set to copy from at this moment.

“Once a position has been scored it becomes available again.” Is directly from the rules. It seems to me we are awarding dogs for being the first to find a track. In my scenario the other three dogs have been working their same track since the beginning. My dog after being recut is now about to work a separate and new track and it seems that he should be award first place on this track. It’s hard to interpret the rules without seeing those rules in an hunt.

But it seems that we are awarding dogs for being in separate trees but treating all tracks as essentially one (I understand we can’t actually track which dogs are working what tracks).

This is why you will be struck for 25
