Treeing walker question

Serious question do all modern treeing walkers bark nonstop in the kennel the last several iv had have been this way I have one now that is about to drive me nuts no matter how much exercise she gets the next day after some rest she’s right back to barking I can’t keep the barking collar on them at all times because of how raw it makes their neck

I can appreciate brutal honesty I didn’t have the barking problems when I hunted other breeds but when I went to the hunts I always got beat by a walker so for now that’s what I hunt the last few I had would pace dig and bark this one just barks so maybe I can slow it down we will see

I've had 2 yankin river bogs and both of them were bog box and kennel barkers, like non stop. They would bark so much that it would burn their necks raw. They were both jam up dogs so I couldn't bare get rid of them.

I would appreciate any info on lines of Walkers that are pen, and or truck barkers. I have one female that is very level headed, and not a pen barker. She tried to be a truck barker at five months old, but learned not to by way of Garmin TT15. She is out of Shack, and a Rat Attack x Miami Big D female. If you don't want to post on here, please message me. I won't post what you have to say unless you want me to.

bad barker

Where i live my dogs pretty well live with bark collars on continuously and i have never had a problem with soreness. I think most problems are because you have the collars on too loose ,allowing them to slide back and forth rather than too tight. Just nice and snug should take care of your problem.

This is not the fix…but it helps with consistency…
Years ago when I walked out the back door and walked to the garage…the pups and dogs would bark and I would be trying to quiet them down…other times I would encourage a little excitement for a moment and then I would get on them to quiet down…one day my light bulb comes on…i am sending mixed signals to my dogs and I am actually contributing to the barking issues…

After thinking about it I changed how I operate…when I step out the back door if the dogs bark I quiet them down and I also ignore them after I quiet them down…if I am outback I actually ignore them and when I go feed or turn the dogs out I expect them to be quiet…

If I step out the back door to feed or take them out and they bark I will scold them and step back into the house...if I continue walking towards them they will interpret that as acceptable to bark because soon they will be rewarded by feeding or taking them out…encouraging barking without realizing the mistake…
Bottom line…we need to be consistent with our actions and just be smarter than the dog…

Once in a while a dog or two forgets, that I have the reach and so I will refresh their memory…i have used shock collars and they come in handy but I believe over time it is a negative…the daisy works good and just the noise when the bb hits the dog house gets there head right real quick and all of a sudden they remember I have the reach…

There has been epigenetic experiments with shocking…it has negative effects and it can be passed on to at least two or three generations...

I've written about it and many don't agree but as more research is done more will get on board…

Thirty years ago I kept my dogs in 4X10 runs on concrete. They barked a lot. In 1995, I built an 80X80 dog yard, now they seldom bark.

As Reuben says, a BB gun light powered enough to just sting if it hits them is great to teach them to be quiet in the pen. Most of the time all I have to do is rattle the BB's. In my experience no bark collars tend to go off at inappropriate times.
