Skin yeast infections

Got a new dog back in August, 4 yr old female, not spayed. Picked her up and noticed the skin on belly was bright pink/red, and she seemed to be pretty bald on her chest and neck. I figured it was either due to the summer heat as it was a really hot summer, or I thought maybe it was a hormonal thing since she had just come out of heat cycle when I got her. Wasnt getting any better in about October so I took her to the vet and they found the issue to be yeast and bacterial infections. Got her on meds and she cleared up within days, and I have had her on probiotics since then. Ran out of probiotics about 4 days ago (I ordered more just waiting for them to get here), and she is already getting itchy, losing hair, and she has a wet/moist spot on her neck and is losing hair there again, and it smells like it did when she had the skin yeast infection. Back in october I talked to the guy I got her from and he said she's always been fair skinned, I asked what he was feeding her and found out I'm feeding the same food. Vet didn't seem to think it was a food problem. Anyone else experience this? She seemed to be doing very well on probiotics, but should I keep her on probiotics forever or just attempt to get my money back for her? I'm kind of upset as I was not informed of her being "fair skinned" until I messaged the previous owner and asked about it. Any input is appreciated, thanks.

i got one that had it bad. i used medicated horse shampoo every 3 days for about 2 months. then got her a allergy shot (Cytapoint) cleared right up.

I had one like this. Lost the hair on his belly and front on his chest and clear up his neck. I thought it was mange. Even took him to the vet and they give him a steroid shot.
I tried the mange shampoo and many other things.
Finally I tried a nexguard pill and it killed whatever he had and his hair come back within a month.

BluetickHound22, when I took her to the vet, both times, two separate vet offices, they did skin scrapes and neither found mites or anything. Just the yeast infection, which caused itching, which them caused a bacterial infection from all the scratching she did. The probiotics came in the mail and she has been back on them for going on 3 days now, and she is almost back to normal already. I'm still going to try to figure out exactly what is causing it, but it seems that it's possibly a gut health issue, I'm thinking this because when she is on probiotics she looks real good. Thanks

Then the vet told me it was just a yeast infection. I had mine to the vet twice for some sort of shot and a antibiotic. He would almost seem like he was getting better and then it would come back worse. I think I read on here about the Nexguard chew working for other mites and things. So I tried that and it fixed mine. Even though my vet said it was a yeast infection. I’m not sure but whatever it was the nexguard fixed it.
Hopefully you got yours figured out. Took me over 6 months to figure out a solution for my problem.

Probably me that posted...Sometimes certain other things cause a weakened immune system and an over flourishing of skin mites that are present on the skin and Nexgard kills them just like it does fleas. For the guy that posted this you should consider changing to a chicken or fish based fed. Spray affected areas with Blu-Kote and yes put you dog on a flea/tick chew like Nexgard and shot of ivomev if not using already.
