House’s Lipper
What type of coon dogs did he produce and what is the bloodline known for?
Is there any breeders around who are maintaining the bloodline along with the traits they are known for?

Training dogs is not so much about quantity, it's more about timing, and the right situations...After that it's up to the dog....A hunting dog is born...
When Lipper was first advertised, a guy told us that Lipper dogs were either going to be bawl mouth tree dogs or scatter brained idiots. For a long time; that seemed to be the case. I hunted with lots of them. And a lot were bawl mouth tree dogs. Most were loud. His male pups a lot of times were big. Almost too big in some cases. But they were good looking rascals.
I don't think being bred as much as he was helped his numbers. A lot of females weren't the type that should have been bred. A lot of guys bred to him because the pups would sell. I heard about a guy that bred to him. He wanted to be sure he had plenty of pups so he bred the female to another dog too. Registered them all as Lipper pups. Then came DNA. One of the owners of a pup from that litter made Dual Grand and the guy had her swabbed. This should have made her DNA VIP. Turns out, she wasn't his. They went to checking the rest of them and discovered some were Lipper pups, some weren't and 2 weren't even out of the right female. Man, what a mess!
Back to the question..he put mouth and looks on his pups but I think the best combination was a female Lipper pup bred to another reproducing male dog.
I had a friend that had two males directly out of lipper at different times both were loud chop mouth tree dogs and were beautiful.Had the chance to buy one of them but the price was too high for me.Iwent and bought a pup out of lipper and he was one of those scatter brained idiots.ha.Another friend says he hunted with lipper and wasnt impressed. But hes one of those that will hunt with a dog one time and say a dogs good or bad.Iwas surprised to see a video showing lipper to be a bawl mouth tree dog.I figured he was chop on tree.
Lipper
I owned 2 different ones direct off Lipper & probably 5 o 6 Grandpups to him.
Here is my experience with Lipper Bred Dogs :
* Most if not all were Bawl Mouth Tree Dogs and with a SCREAMING Locate.
* Would Bump a deer, tree a possum when you first started hunting them.....But once they started treeing Coon they forgot about the Junk on their own.
* Outstanding Track Dogs that could Grub Up an Old Feed Track and Produce a Coon on the end of it.
* Could be a little grouchy at the tree with the Handler
* Very Nice looking Hounds with LOUD Mouths
* Very level headed around the house/Kennel
*** I Wish I had one today to Hunt.....!!!

It just seems funny that out of all the pups he had (Over 5,000) They were never used in the PKC hunts to win a truck on any of the Big Money prizes they would offer, PKC has an ALL TIME MONEY LIST and not one of them were sired by Lipper, You will hear many hunters say How Loud, How Pretty, How Big but None were used to dominate the hunts..
He threw nice dogs but you might have to go thru a dozen to get one.
You mean 2 or 3 dozen, and the best female's in the country were bred to him to boot.. I'm not trying to run Lipper down, I'm just trying to figure out what facts these guys are basing on what their talking about?
seems to me dogs off lipper threw better pups than direct off him.i had two different grandpups of lipper and they both were good dogs.one of the best track dogs i have ever owned was a grand pup of lipper.J P Langham had a lipper bred dog that threw decent pups.just my 2 cents worth.
