We have a 4 year old without any markings. But it seems a lot do.
It’s common for them to have the star on the chest. It’s not uncommon for there to be a Black and Tan in the litter believe it or not. It like with English hounds they typically have a spot as big as a silver dollar right on top of the head called a hagerty spot. It’s just a characteristic marking.
ALOT OF THE WHITE HAS BEEN BRED OUT OF RED DOGS FOR SHOW, YEARS AGO THERE WAS A BREEDER THAT CROSSED A LOT BLACK WITH HIS RED ONES FOR WHAT EVER REASON I DON'T KNOW
