diluting permithren
I have some 10% permithren. I want to dilute it and use it as a topical spray to prevent seed tick infestations. I already give them the flea and tick preventative but they still get ticks. I mostly concerned about those tiny seed ticks. I can't tell that the dog has gotten them until the tiny seed ticks plump up and start falling off.

Works very well
I have been using permethrin 10 for a couple years now. I mix 1/2 ounce of permethrin 10 with 1 gallon of water. I spray my hounds with it once every 7 to 10 days. I also spray my boots, chaps, and hat with it weekly. It has worked very well for me in keeping ticks, flies, mosquitoes, and most other insects away. It also works well as an ant spray and does a pretty good job as wasp spray too!
thanks Tillery

I am not reccomending that you do this but I mix an ounce in one of my wife's pint spray bottles and spray my dogs with it. That is a lot stronger than they reccomend but it kills all ticks and doesn't seem to hurt the dogs at all. But then I also spray myself which they definitely don't recommend. I don't have to worry about ticks, gnats or mosquitoes and at 73 yrs old it hasn't killed me yet. It may have caused some brain damage however. My memory sure isn't what it used to be.
