Alpha 200 Question

Should a 200 keep tracks in it as long as a 100 does? I have a 200 and my dad has a 100. We turn both on and go hunt, say a few days later we hunt again. My 200 will delete our tracks and the 100 will still have them. Both Garmins are set to not delete the tracks but my 200 does.

Are you talking dog tracks or the track left by the handheld.

Blake, I will discuss this today with a couple guys. Something is not right with my interpretation of what you are asking. Let me check this out.

Blake I have one thing confusing me. You said both ALPHAS are set not to delete tracks. That setting for the dogs tracks give a time period and also OFF with is to keep them. The ALPHA track doesn't have that setting. Most people have them on to record and show on map. They stay till deleted. The only thing that will remove them is if the system gets full and then to put new tracks on there it will erase a section of the older tracks and keep doing this as long as the system if full. I would try deleting your Handheld track and see if it keeps them longer. IF you want to keep old tracks you can save them which moves them to another area that doesn't remove them to free up track space.

Sorry, the easiest way for me to explain it is my hunting club has a lot of little pig paths and trails that i can drive or walk that makes walking easier. My dads 100 will keep our tracks for months before it deletes them. My 200 will delete them after a couple days. Its like mine deletes them if I dont use the 200 for 2 or 3 days and the 100 may not get used for months at a time but keeps our tracks. I dont care about dog tracks as I delete them before every hunt.

Making more sense. What you need to do is map out the pig traila/club. Then save them. Then when your in that area. Could be your entire club. You will have saved maps of your area. You can then delete or loose your last tracks. But your saved maps won't be lost. Are you using the tracks you saved in conjunction with birdseye or a huntview card.

To my knowledge I havent saved or know how to save any tracks, and yes I'm using a huntview card.

Saving tracks is how you accomplish building maps without them being deleted. Lots of Youtube videos on the ins and outs of it.

How do I delete the handheld tracks? Looked it up in the manual but the way it says I don’t have the discard option when I click on menu

.

Select track manager from home page.
Select my track.
At the top of the page. Select the colored icon. (On left)
Now you should be on the page that allows you to select discard track.
