Memorial Day

Thank You veterans for your service, that gave me the freedom I enjoy. Have a party to celebrate this day. But take a moment to bow your head and give thanks. Hold up a bottle or a glass to toast them.

I have the upmost respect for all of you who served. I know it cost every one of you more than those of us who never served will ever know. My brother gave his life as did many.

A little correction if I may. I'm sure some may get bent out of shape but that is ok.

Anyway

Memorial Day is to honor those service members who gave their life in service to our country.
Veterans Day is for those of us that served whose time in uniform is done.
Armed Forces Day is for those still serving

Many have paid the ultimate price for the freedoms we enjoy today. My Father and (2) of his brothers were all in WWII. My dad and his older brother were on different battle ships with both in the battle of Okinawa. The younger brother was in the Air Force and a turret gunner in the plane he was assigned to. He flew 25 sorties over Germany. All (3) of them returned home without a scratch. My dad always said it was my grandmothers prayers that kept them safe.

I’ve never taken for granted the freedoms we enjoy at the great cost of life to many who served that we might live in freedom.

Take the time today for some quiet reflection on the cost to be free. Many paid the ultimate price for us.
Also, remember that the dream of these great United States for America could all be lost much easier and faster than they were gained. There are way to many in powerful places that have a vision for this country that is not what our forefathers and those who gave their lives intended. There are battles we must fight here at home that are not from the typical battles of war. Hold the line it is at your door step. Let none of those who died have done so in vain. Freedom does not come free, don't take it for granted!
