Flea and tick
Whats is your all's honest opinion on oral treatments and the best out there ??
Personally don't think you can beat Simparica monthly pill and spray with Permethrin before hunting. Simparica now has Trio which covers ticks, fleas, worms and heart worms.

Bravecto does a great job!

I use simparica trio with good results.
I have used bravecto also with good results.
But seems to me the simparica doesn’t upset my dogs stomach Like bravecto does.
I’m not gonna say it’s the best but home for the money the topical from Dollar General works just fine. I’m using it on 7 dogs without any flea and tick problems.
.
I personally think Preacher Tom said something in his post and we really need to open our eyes to.
Permethrin is something that hunters should read about and seriously consider being part of every household. Why because ticks have a lasting effect on a lot of our dogs and a lot of people. Permethrin is available form several companies. One commercial one that we all can get is Sawyer Products. Lot of the power companies and utility companies have the same thing in a product under the brand Rainbow for their utility workers.
Here is what Permethrin can do for you and how it should be used. It is odorless (sawyer brand) and you spray in on your hunting clothes. Let it dry. Important. Let it dry and it is on the clothing for 6 weeks or 6 washings. Ticks and skeeters don't like it. You have a hunting vest. Spray the back of it. You have chaps. Spray them. Spray your hunting pants and shirts.
Now for your dogs. Kind of ruff up their coat and spray them. In the South or anywhere the skeeters are bad. It will help out. Ticks will die and fall off the dog. The stuff works for me. I am just surprised it is not talked about more in the coon hound arena.
