TOC Entry

I thought the extra $4.00 per dog at all UKC Coonhound hunts were to cover the TOC Purse. If that is the case , why do you still have to pay $100.00 to enter the TOC Hunt? It seems to me that UKC's pockets are filling with money and the local clubs are still taking the hit.

Hunt

The 100.00 dollar entry will help fund the 200,000 purse because it would take about 40, 000 entries to cover 5 00 per dog

Cheaper then the world hunt where you can only win $10,000.
$100 for a chance at $50,000 I'll take them odds any day.

I was hoping they would make it 300 to get rid of some of the trash dogs.

They cover their 200k payout very easy in a year. I didn’t believe they’d get 40,000 dogs in a year but after adding up how many hunts are on any given weekend they make it very easy.. now if 500 dogs that got qualified attend the regionals, that’s another 50k to the pot. Between UKC and PKC if you go thru the work and money to get qualified why should you than pay an entry for that hunt?

I can promise you, UKC will not be out 1 dime and they will make a lot of money. UKC never had any kind of money hunts until anout 10 years ago and how many years have they been in business. Bank account just keeps growing by the day ,I understand they are in business to make money, but there has to be a given point somewhere and the local clubs are struggling all across United States, then you take another $4.00 per dog at each coon hunt to supposedly cover the TOC pot.Come on are you people really not catching on. They started the TOC to bring more entries to the local clubs to help local clubs get numbers up and it did in certain parts of the country but then make it where you have to pay UKC $7.00 per dog entered in the night hunt. Most clubs were struggling before the TOC was even mentioned. How many more clubs have folded this last year? My opinion if we are going to do $7.00 a dog per hunt , let's make licensing fees for clubs a flat rate each year of $100.00 for all events scheduled for the entire year and that covers bench show and night hunts. If you have a UKC Doubleheader and a bench show ,you are giving UKC $52.00 before you figure in dog entrant money. Our last hunt , the weather wasn't the greatest but we had it anyways. We had 7 in the show and 7 in the hunt. $7.00×7=49 + $2.00×7=14 + $52.00 on that equals $115.00 going to UKC. If you have a kitchen, you might make $100.00 maybe but you have way more in it.

I’m just going to say this because I think it needs to be known. UKC created the TOC to get dogs back to the local clubs and I promise this year after this hunt you’ll see your clubs start making more money. But clubs can’t survive on hunt money alone you have to sell food, drinks, and raffles.

Clubs

It doesn't matter what a registry does many clubs will and have struggled or closed down without some outside money coming in such as raffles, meat hunts etc as a matter of fact in some Areas having a club house is a negative because of the overhead and finally wild coon hunts are everywhere it's like the wild west different reg trying different formats

X2, Jason, successful Clubs DO NOT rely solely on hunt dollars, never have, never will and that's just a FACT. Clubs that hold fund raising events are the ones that are making money. There are lots of ways to generate revenue for Clubs, things like turkey shoots, etc. are just one way to help the Clubs. It takes much more than holding a few hunts to make a financial success for any Club. Some Clubs exist for the sole purpose of holding a few hunts and NO, they are not very profitable doing just that. Dave
