Not pushing too fast

I’ve got a pup to train for the first time in a while. She’s now 5 months old. It is eating me alive to hold off without doing too much to fast before she is ready. I’m not sure if it’s cause she is a female or just her personality, but she is more timid at this age than my male was.

Could be her breeding, the black and tan breed has lines that throw very backwards dogs. As long as you can catch her take her out. If she don't like other people go alone. Take the time to haul her around and take her for walks places were other people are around. I had a male that was really really backwards twards men. He was a great coondog. We would take him to our reservoir for walks. Its all open space with other people walking. It got him use to other people being around him but not on top of him. When he was ready for the hunts I called a friend that is a good hounds men to hunt him. I stayed at the truck, while he handled him all nite. I was able to hunt him in the hunts after that, he didn't flip out in a cast and won all over the country. But people never could walk up to the truck when he was out. He would brake his neck trying to get away from them. Even if they were side by side with him all nite in a cast.
