A cast win doesn't mean anything if your not in the top 16 if you lay back you don't know if you will make it you must be in the top 16 to advance . I figured the coon population was down up there
With today's dogs, scores don't tell the whole story. In the past if a cast treed six coons, the winner would have 1,200+. Nowadays a cast can tree six coons and the winner will have 350+. Three of the dogs will tree two coons each and with no leash lock they have to strike for 25 after the first coon. Dog style, new rules and new format have all changed the cast scores.
