Question for the Computer Pros

We have these message boards that we have been using for a long time. UKC has this one and the other KC's have similar boards. Not sure the name of them something like vBulletin board of something.

Here is my questions. Face Book has designed a system that works so much better because it is easier to use. It i so easy that most of the KC's even UKC post their info on FB. The reason is the simplicity of uploading pictures and other info.

Why hasn't some one developed a message board similar to Face Book. Is it because that ability to do so is patented or has copywrites. If so why doesn't FB develop and sell mini versions of what they do with no crossover. So companies can have their own FB type message boards that are simple to use.

I know very little about computers but isn't it a lot easier for a company to just have a message forum on Facebook? It seems that everybody and their brother has a Facebook page now. Doesn't Conkey's Supply have one? I bet that Tar would have one if he couldn't take over this one.

Richard you are correct. My thought process is that many run from Facebook. If it was set up the same as a message board the was controlled by companies like UKC. People would learn it like the did this board. Without the negatives some have fo FB.
