That is flipping amazing.. I personally will never have need of one, but sure see the value of it.. Wow!
Trevor
Great post, another prime example of what technology can do for us. Dave

That’s pretty cool stuff right there.
Tar
For $2000 I'll just continue saying, he's up there I just can't find him.

I want one . 2000.00 would get my wife upset with me. I guess I will have to hunt my dog an let him tell me when he’s lying.
I’ve seen it first hand...The one Trevor has is amazing
But possums glow in the dark too !
Tar
Tar, I read that a possum's temperature is so low he can't get rabies. So I'm assuming he would glow a little less than a coon. I'm sure for $2000 you get a color chart so you can tell a coon from a possum.

It was very easy to see the image of a coon in that tree, I am sure you can tell the difference between a coon and a possum, just like the difference between s hog, deer, hog, cow, horse or any other animal. The outline shows very clearly. Dave

Tar
You never know you just might get one, prices come down as technology advances. Having one sure would be nice, especially if you train dogs, knowing when to praise the dog and knowing when to correct if they treed slick. Dave

Lol. Only when in a competition hunt, you would be surprised how much better some of those guys eyes are when they are just pleasure hunting. I have never had any trouble telling the difference, even if I only see eyes. Dave

I consider myself just an average Joe. I take this sport more serious then most as far as passion goes. However the money side of things I pay for everything i get in this sport. I've been at a hunt most weekends and usually one or more on the week nights for 14 years now.
You can imagine the look on my wifes face when I told her I needed to buy a thermal and it cost 2000 😁 she wasn't amused and it took some convincing but I got it done lol.

I'm afraid to get one. I might find out my dog is sorrier than I thought he was, lol.

Lol. Not me, I definitely WANT to know if it's there, that's why I enjoy hunting in the winter months with no leaves . I do not mind leaving the coon, but I like to know for sure the dog was correct. Accurate coon dogs are a pleasure for me, I do not like slick treeing dogs, I am coon hunting not hunting for empty trees. Lol. Dave

Hoosier. I just need one question answered honestly. Back a couple years ago I think the Flir thermal got some traction and several tried it. I gave it a chance but was disappointed. It was fun and neat to use but I never found a coon with it that my light didn't find first. Not being critical. But I want a thermal unit that finds the one I can't with my light. In your opinion does this unit do that.
