needing help to get a young dog to stayed treed
I'm hunting a bluetick male that just turned 2 in June. I got him back in July. The guys I bought him from said he had probably treed around a dozen coons by hisself. Since I've owned him I've treed 7 with him. The problem is he has either been quiting alot of tracks or if he runs one an it gets in a ruff place he will hang up. He won't just pull up treed. Its like if he can't smell it good enough to tree he will either come back or keep beating around. Is this something that he will over come in time an get better at. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
i only want mine to stay if it has the coon ! i never tie one back or praise it up until coon is seen just encourages slick treeing. a good kill season should solve your problem. sounds like your dog is back tracking it will out grow after a kill season be patience and good luck
Jacob here is a idea hunt him 30 day strait rain or shine you will fix him or you will move on the another one way or another problem solved !!
