Info on Kirby bred blueticks please
I do not have blueticks or know anything bout the history or pedigree. I have however been hunting a hound with Kirbys Blue Monster in her ped (half breed jessi). I was wanting someone to give me a brief lesson on what monster was as far as his breeding and if that line of hounds is still being promoted. I have research the name and ped of course but havent really found alot of info, thanks guys for any help
Kirbys blue monster
I had a littermate to Kirby’s blue monster That line of blue dogs is about gone. Lot of people didn’t like them because they were chop mouth all the way and would not breed to them. Both tremendous tree dogs. My old grump dog would be four or five generations back in my dogs Pedigree Only two guys bred to Grump Ed Mead and Mark Vandeveer. marks Female did not get any pups. But far as coon dog my old grump dog was the most consistent cast winning dog I ever own I had just started competition hunting and won night champion at the Winter classic with him night champion a treeing walker days with him and then done pretty well with him at the world hunt one year. But like I said before most bluetickers would not breed to him because he was chop mouth all the way first and first type dog. Monster got famous when he bred a clover bred Walker dogThat line of cross bred dogs has been kicking butt in Iowa and all over the country for the last 15 yearsHope this helps thanks Jason
Jason i have one of the "half breed" dogs from iowa and i like her a whole lot, that is why i wanted to know more bout that line of blue dogs seemed like it worked really well, and u see alot more of xbreedin bluetick n walkers but dont seem to work as well as that particular cross did, and not just initial cross but several gens since
