Pup Tipping Over Water and Feed Pan

I've got a pup that is possessed about tripping over his water pan after he drinks and was concerned about him needing water more often than I'm around to provide it for him.
John Wick once advised about filling the bottom hollow side of a pan with concrete. That didn't work.

Tying the bucket or pan to something didn't work long term either.

What has worked is placing a 3 gallon pan inside a 16" tire casing. He was so frustrated that he barked at it. That was 3 months ago and he has never been out of water since.

Thanks for sharing...sounds like a good plan to me...

I have a young female that tips over her food pan...
I think I am the cause as to why she does it...when she was quite a bit smaller I had a stainless chain around he neck as a collar and it was somewhat too big and there were about 3 links hanging...plenty of room for growth...

She didn’t like the rattle of those links in the food pan so she tipped her bowl over sometimes now...used to be all the time as a pup...

Did you try tipping the pan over first, and letting him tip it back?

Bored!

Give him some toys to occupy him. Had 10 mo old female do that last year. I had metal bucket for water. I think the noise it made fascinated her. I hung metal bucket on chain so it couldn't be up set & put few rocks in it. The rocks would make noise when she pawed at it. She would rattle that bucket and leave water bucket alone.

I haven't had a water bucket in years. Lickers.

One of ours chews apart any food bowl that's chewable. We finally settled on a cast aluminum cook pot.
